Tanzania Visa / Passport

Along with many other countries in the world, Tanzania has now committed to make a stand against the impact of plastic waste on the environment.

1st June 2019, Tanzania released a notice for travelers including tourists wishing to visit the country that “all plastic carriers, regardless of their thickness, will be prohibited from being imported, exported, manufactured, sold, stored, supplied and used in Mainland Tanzania.

Tanzania Visa Information: All visitors to the United Republic of Tanzania require an onward or return ticket together with proof that the visitor has sufficient funds to support himself or herself while in Tanzania.

You need a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date when entering the country. If you plan to enter the country more than once during your trip, you may be able to get a multiple-entry visa. The passport must be presented to the Immigration Control Officer at any entry point: border station, airport, and harbour. The passport must be presented with one of the following:

A valid visa

Resident permit

A pass

 All visitors from non-Commonwealth countries are required to have a valid visa unless their countries have agreements with Tanzania under which the visa requirement is waived. Citizens of Commonwealth countries are not required to obtain a visa unless they are citizens of the United Kingdom, Canada, Nigeria, or India.

US passport holders pay 100 US$ for standard single, double, and multiple entry visas. Canadian passport holders pay 75 US$. EU citizens and most other nationals require 50 US$ or 50 €.
